Hi I'm Adell

I grew up in south Texas. I'm a pianist, a saxophonist and a vocalist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in June of 2017 in the top 10 of my class. I did band all four years and was very dedicated to it. After high school, I plan on going to college in Idaho and studying piano performance in order to further my musical career and talents. Before college however, I will be serving an 18-month mission overseas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love playing and listening to music. I love reading books, especially fantasy novels and I love playing video games with my siblings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this incredible church so I have been blessed by it's marvelous blessings for my entire life. Ever since I was a child, I've believed it was true. When I was about 12 years old, I learned for myself that this church was true. I was facing some challenges at that time, nothing to bad, but they were still challenges and I was facing a lot of questions about my beliefs. One Sunday night, I decided that I needed to pray and pour out my heart to the Lord. I asked for help and comfort and I also asked if I was in the right place, if the Church of Jesus Christ was really true. When I was done in sat in my bed for a moment and just thought and pondered over the prayer I just had. I felt an overwhelming sensation of warmth and peace. All of troubles and fears were gone and I felt peace. I knew that Heavenly Father had answered my prayer and I knew that this church was true. I am a Mormon because I have felt Heavenly Father's spirit confirm to me that this church is true and this gospel is right. I know that He is real and that He loves me and I know that Jesus Christ came to Earth to save me and all the people on Earth so we can return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know the blessings promised in it are attainable to everyone on Earth. I am a Mormon because I want those blessings in my life, including the chance to return to my Heavenly Father in Heaven. I know that I can be with Him again, along with my entire family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I have two callings in my ward. I am the ward chorister and a children's Sunday School teacher for the 3-4 year olds. As a children's Sunday School teacher, during the week, I prepare a lesson to share with my students to help them learn the gospel and grow in their faith and understanding. As the ward chorister, I do my best to help lead the congregation in music and help them to feel the spirit as they sing together. I have also served as a youth chair member for the other youth in the area. Every month I would attend a meeting with 10 other youth from the Corpus Christi region and we would discuss future events for the youth in the church. We would plan and prepare together to help bring the youth in area together in the gospel.
