Hi I'm Matthew Gill

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. I am involved in and love many musical activities, especially singing. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a musician. I played upright bass and French Horn through most of high school but quit partway through to focus on show choir. I was in the varsity group where we sang and danced a 15 minute, 6 song show and my senior year, we won in a national competition. I love singing and dancing and will be taking ballroom dance cl asses at BYU-Idaho where I will be attending in 2019 after my 2-year-mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission and am eager to spread the knowledge, joy, and truths that I know to be true.

Why I am a Mormon

While in high school, I made a lot of stupid mistakes. All of the guilt from those mistakes would feel truly awful if it weren't for this Gospel and repentance. Through repentance, Heavenly Father has washed away many sins and comforted me with his forgiveness. By going to church every week, reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible, and listening to the modern day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, I have become closer to Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

For about a year, I was part of a committee that planned large activities for youth. The committee planned activities for Mormon youth in about half of the city. Our goal was to create activities that would strengthen their faith, give them a fun evening, and help them find good friends. I helped to plan about 5-7 highly successful activities while in that committee.
