Hi I'm Ethan

I was raised in central Pennsylvania and grew up in Washington. I am about to serve a full time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love working on cars and playing rugby. Most of my time is spent learning and doing school work for college. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission for the church. My favorite pastime is probably riding my motorcycle, when it's running, at least.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel joy and peace in the church. I always thought I was a happy youth, but my parents didn't see it that way. They watched me shift away from being a sweet and happy child into an angry and unhappy teenager. This transition only got worse with time, until I went to college at a church school. When I got there, I noticed how unimaginably happy everybody was all the time. People were so happy it almost felt foreign to me. I compared them to myself to understand why our levels of happiness were so different, and I realized that I needed to change my path in life order to be like the people around me. Once I started living according to the standards laid out in the gospel, I reached a level of joy that I can't recall from my own living memory. I never doubted my testimony as a youth, but it was only once I started living the gospel that I learned for myself that the church was true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to lift those around me at all times and spread joy. The way I see it, why be miserable when you can be happy? I'm quite young, so I have not had many callings, though at college I was assigned to do indexing work for family history. It was amazing to look through old records and plug that information in so that people can find lost loved ones again. Naturally, I live my faith by doing my best to live according to the commandments, and I want to share that information with others by serving a mission.
