Hi I'm Manaia Vea

I grew up in Rose Park, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost, I am of Polynesian descent - Tongan to be more specific. I am the youngest of 6 kids, 3 boys and 3 girls. So with the parents included we have 8 all together! Raised in Rose Park then moved to where my family currently lives - Bountiful. I grew up in the LDS church but I still had to grow my own belief, my own testimony, of the gospel teachings in the church. I also recently finished my first year at UVU and plan on continuing my education there after my mission. I love anything that may fall under the category of a 'sport'. Grew up playing many things such as football & basketball so I love to keep an active healthy life-style! Have a great appreciation of the outdoors such as camping, hikes, sunrises, sunsets along with stargazing. I also love music and think it's probably one of the best things life has to offer. The guitar, ukulele, and piano top my list of favorite instruments - happen to also play all 3.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church - this means that my parents are both members and so were their parents. Growing up I never really thought about what church really was because that's just life. Go to church every Sunday. More or less, you could say it was "tradition." Since I never really knew anything else, I kinda just took my membership in the church for granted. When I grew up and became a teenager (and because that was what my parents believed, not me) I felt the need to go against the grain or be sort of a rebel. My teenage rebellion was more under the radar - you would see me at church but I was far from really being a part of it. I made some mistakes during that time and every chance I took, I just wouldn't go to anything affiliated with my church. A couple huge events that happened later changed my perspective on life. The miracle of forgiveness and the reality of families being together forever really opened my eyes to just how important this gospel is to everyone. Not just members, but every single human being on earth.

How I live my faith

One thing I have loved doing is helping those who are preparing for their mission! I share a lot of my experiences, thoughts, and even scriptures with them to simply try to encourage them for this amazing step in life they are about to partake of.
