Hi I'm Paul Quinn

I grew up in Arlington Texas in a typical Texas suburb family in the 1950's. I joined the church as a non member at BYU.

About Me

I own a computer consulting firm along with my son. Nancee and I have had 10 kids. I was a radio announcer in my younger days. We live in the south. We have 18 grand kids and most of them live around us. Many come over to dinner on Sunday afternoons after church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when investigating the church I felt something that helped me pursue on further in my research of the Gospel teachings. I did not know it at the time but I was feeling the Holy Spirit. I followed my research all the way to BYU as a student and was influenced by all the wonderful people that I met there and became friends with. Finally I knew that this was the right thing to do. Now after may years my testimony had deepened with every spiritual experience. I have become close to my Savior and i am learning to think the way that he does. It is a great blessing to be a member. I am spirituality safe, happy, fulfilled and feel that I am accomplishing the things I came down here for. It is a wonderful life. There are and have been challenges in my life. Some very serious but I have a framework to evaluate these in so that I have been able to heal and feel happiness again. Now that I am older Nancee and I are going on a mission for the church for two years. I can spend all my time in service to the Lord. This is very exciting and we know that It will fulfill our dreams to be good disciples for the Savior. I know what I believe is right. I know that I am doing is right. I am on a strong foundation and want to stay there. Being a Mormon is a blessing to me and gives me the opportunity to give back for the wonderful life the Lord has given me. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being honest. That is very important to me. I also have served in my church assignments will all my heart. I feel the best way to serve the Savior is to dedicate a considerable portion of every week to serving others. I love my church assignments I have had during the years because it gives me focus and allows me to be productive in helping others. I love the read the scriptures and swim in the knowledge of God. It is a favorite time of each day. In our church meetings we talk of the Lord and often take inventory of ourselves in our discussions so that we can learn from each other and try to be more faithful. I love going to church.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Paul Quinn
In no other religion or philosophy has the God of this earth come down to his followers and sacrificed himself on behalf of us. How could anyone not think that that was a beautiful concept. This is the signal point of Christian belief. It is the center of my life. I do believe that we must be clean to return back to our Father. We must become at some time perfect as He is. The Lord wishes to give to us everything that he has. He loves us and considers us the most prized of all his creations as I have done with my own children. I want to be always good,l, kind, wise and helpful but I am not always. The Lord has paid for my mistakes as I learn to be better. I can never be the person I want to be without this overwhelming power that the Lord has to help me. He is the model for all of us. I am in awe of the willingness and ability the Savior had to pass through the atonement for me and for everyone else who wants the help. It is an unknown thing in many ways. Outside my understanding other than I know enough to accept it and be blessed by it and hopefully take this gift and help others receive it as well. What a great way to live your life. He made it all possible. Show more Show less
