Hi I'm Chrisanne

I'm a powdered doughnut aficionado. I'm an illustrator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother, and artist. My husband is the tall, dark and handsome type, and my 2 year old is the adorable even when mischievous type. Right now my husband is a student working his way through an undergraduate degree and I'm a stay at home mom. I went to school for illustration and still persue art rigorously in my free time. My favorite things to draw are short comics about life with my small family, people with pretty hair, and sometimes dogs haha. I also enjoy picking up new hobbies when I get a hankering for something different. Recently I went on a crocheting binge and am now trying tackle sewing. I have ADHD and have struggled a lot with depression and anxiety. My journey with mental health has been a long one (and is still continuing), but I've found tools and resources that have helped me cope and I am able to enjoy life despite my health challenges. Being a mom has forced me to take my own wellbeing seriously, because my son is growing up quickly (as toddlers do) and I want to be able to enjoy every minute of it. Being married to an amazing man and raising a beautiful baby has been the most fulfilling thing I've ever done in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and my parents have always strived to be faithful members. I've always known there was a God and I've always believed in His son Jesus Christ. There were times where I questioned their love for me, but I can say with certainty that I know that they love me and that they love you as well. Being a member of the church, striving to live like Christ and drawing closer to God has made me happy. Doing things like studying The Book of Mormon daily and attending church has made a huge diffference in my quality of life. I love this gospel, I love being part of this church, and I love the peace and joy and purpose being a member has given me.

How I live my faith

Once a month I lead a faith based discussion amongst women in our church. I really enjoy preparing for these discussions as it allows me to explore topics about my religion in more depth than I normally would. I also love hearing what others bring to the conversation. We all have different backgrounds, different cultures, different family traditions and different talents and experiences. When people open up and share these things with those around them it leads to greater understanding and enlightenment.
