Hi I'm Marilyn

I am a thoughtful, serviceful, happy, patient and non-judgemental person. I love my family. I love learning. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter of God trying to get through this life in one piece. I've been to school and worked in various positions. I am a daughter, grandaughter, sister, auntie, cousin and friend. I love cooking and baking cakes. I love learning and reading books. I love offering service in various ways. I love driving, riding my bike, going on walks and going on hikes. I love taking care of the vegetable garden. I love being myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I like the plan of Salvation. I like knowing where I come from, the purpose of life and knowing what will happen after this life. I like that families can be sealed for all eternities. I'm grateful to God for performing miracles in my life through His power. I'm keeping my covenants.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by offering my friendship to others, by helping others in time of need, by being clean, by sharing the gospel with others, by attending Sunday worship, by providing service within the church, by following the commandments, by studying the Bible and Book of Mormon.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of the welfare service is to help those individuals who are unable to meet their basic needs, to lift individuals as Christ would, to succor as Christ would, to help the individual become self reliant and to work towards becoming self reliant. The welfare program is sustained through church member that contribute through fast offerings. I also think of the welfare program being an act of obedience to the Lord's will, and an act of love to humanity. Ye must visit the poor and the needy and administer to their relief. D&C44:6 Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Mathew 25:40 Remember in all things the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted, for he that doeth not these things, the same is not my disciple. D&C 52:40 Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

The church discourages performing abortions for two reasons: One of the commandment is thou shalt not kill. Another commandment is to not defile a temple. A Body is consider a temple( a tabernacle) for the Spirit to dwell in. When the woman is pregnant the body is forming for a Spirit to have the opportunity to experience life on earth. The only time there might be exception as to aborting a body is when the person has been raped or the mother's life is endanger. She should then pray and consult the leaders of the church. Giving the baby for adoption is preferable over an adoption. Show more Show less
