Hi I'm Courtney

I'm an Oregon girl who loves hiking, baking, and reading on rainy days! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was called to serve a mission in the great state of Nebraska! I love to volunteer at food banks and service projects. I attend college at Brigham Young University where I am studying dietetics. I love to sing, play piano, read, cook, and dance in the rain with my sisters! My favorite thing in the world is making others smile.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the church going back many generations. I feel blessed that I was raised in a Christ-centered home. Through many different experiences in church, in my home, and in other places I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I follow His gospel because I know that it will help me to be the best person I can be and that through my righteous actions I will find eternal happiness and joy in the life to come.

How I live my faith

As a college student, I served as a teacher for my fellow sisters. I enjoyed learning more about the gospel through my studies and lesson preparations, as well as through discussions with those in my ward. Serving as a teacher helped me to gain a new perspective on the gospel as well as develop a stronger relationship with my Savior and with the Holy Ghost. I also served as a worker in the Portland, Oregon temple. My greatest desire is to spread the eternal joy and hope that the gospel holds for us. I live my faith by sharing with others the happiness that I feel through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Our lives on earth allow us to use our agency- the ability to make our own choices- to learn for ourselves how to be the best people we can be. During our lives we can have experiences that will help us to know for ourselves the difference between good and evil. We can also make relationships with people we love and care for. Because of our Heavenly Father's plan, those relationships can be preserved beyond this life; if we choose to be righteous and follow our Savior, we have the opportunity to live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and those we love after this life!
