Hi I'm Bobbie Brinkerhoff

I enjoy popsicles and dancing in the rain. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Bobbie. I am a recent high school graduate. I spent a year at Southern Utah University pursuing my dream degree in elementary education with a minor in special education. I am currently preparing to serve the Lord and his people in the Idaho Pocatello mission. My hobbies include (failing at) cooking, reading, watching Friends and The Office, living vicariously through my pinterest boards, tennis, theater, doing family history work, kickboxing, hiking, traveling, watching movies, playing games, and hanging out with my family and friends. I enjoy trying new things, experiencing new cultures, and going out of my comfort zone. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the gospel, I had times where I decided I would live the gospel and then others times where I thought I could do life on my own, viewing it more as a burden that would slow me down. I noticed the difference between times that I was living the gospel and it was beautiful, amazing, I was in love with being alive and other times when I strayed away that I felt this life was horrible, how could there be a God when I had a life like this. In college, I could no longer be dependent on my parents and friends testimonies, I had a choice to be all in or not in at all. I knew of the teachings but I had never truly and wholeheartedly lived them. Through doing so I stumbled and fell, but have continuously felt the love of my Savior carrying me through this refining process. Problems that were once major became less of a focus as I gave it all to my Savior and looked at the bigger picture. I was able to start turning my trials into a testimony and my burdens into blessings. I am a Mormon because of the peace and love it brings me in any circumstance or time in my life. Knowing that this beautifully imperfect perfect life that God gave me was because He loved me, He wanted me to be happy and knew that specific experiences would give me a life far greater than I had planned for myself brings me a sense of identity and perspective that brings me great joy. I am able to see His hand in every aspect of my life, even in the smallest of details leading me to where and who I need to be. It allows me to become the person I have always wanted to be and more. Through living the gospel and serving others the worries and struggles of this life seem so small and unimportant compared to the joys and blessings that through faithful living we are promised. This gospel brings the knowledge of hope, eternal happiness, and a life farther greater than we can imagine and there is nothing more precious than that. I love this gospel, I live it, I love it, and I will forever be sharing it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following in Christ's footsteps; by acquiring and striving to obtain and develop Christ like attributes. As I strive to serve and love others, I am able to feel of Christ's love for each individual person and truly understand His teachings and why they are important. I have served in callings working to strengthen my peers, working in the Special Needs program, and working in the Lord's house, the temple. The gospel brings me happiness through His simple commandments and by doing daily things such as praying, reading my scriptures, fasting, paying tithing, and serving others.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Bobbie Brinkerhoff
Growing up I used to think that the Book of Mormon was a book with old stories with events and stories that would never happen today. First time reading it, I struggled to understand the words but as I prayed for a witness I was able to feel of it's truthfulness and power. As I continued to truly study and desire to come to know and understand, avenues of understanding came (and continue to come) to me. It is a book that was written for this day and age, to be a personal roadmap in our unique journeys here on this earth to help us get back to live eternally with our Father in Heaven,. You are in the scriptures. You can find those who came before you who were just as confused, struggling, and imperfect as you. Although imperfect, they were able to experience the joys and feel of the love of the Savior through all the hardships, good times, and everything in between as they strived to follow Christ. As we follow the counsel in 2 Nephi 6:5 and liken the scriptures unto ourselves, we can have the guidance and support we seek at any time or in an circumstance in our life. Read it, believing that it is true and learn for yourself through prayer and experience that it is the Word of God. (Moroni 10:4) Show more Show less
