Hi I'm Cole Helton

I'm from Washington state and will be leaving on my mission at the end of August to the Arizona, Mesa mission and im a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Washington state and I love the outdoors. I just finished my first year of college at BYU-Idaho. I will be majoring in business administration and minoring in biology. I have an older brother and an older sister, both of whom served missions. My older brother served in the Cleveland, Ohio, mission and my older sister served in the Salt Lake City Temple Square mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I kind of always took it for granted. Well, not kind of. I did take it for granted. I have always loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but i never really worked hard to develop my own testimony - especially when it came to loving the scriptures. As I have studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon, as well as the rest of the scriptures, my love grew. As I began to develop my own testimony, I began to see how much the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ really do protect and help me. I really do know with all my heart that following the path that our Heavenly Father has for us is our only way to feel true happiness in this life and the one to come.

How I live my faith

While I was growing up, my family - and especially my mom - was involved in a day called Make a Difference Day. Every fall we would go out and stop by at all these different activities and service projects and it made a big influence on me. I never realized how big of a difference you can make in your community. It is really cool to see how many people care about bettering their community as well. I also grew up going home teaching with my dad and he is a great example of loving those you serve.
