Hi I'm Cindy

I am a mom and a grandmother. I have a son with Autism. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love gardening and reading and cooking. My favorite thing to do is to play with my granddaughters. I have an adult son with Autism. My husband and I have spent a lot of our lives caring for him and helping him navigate this world with his disability. We have been blessed with a lot of loving support from our family and friends, and yet this is a situation that changes constantly and gives us new challenges along the way. I feel a kinship to any family with a child with a disability and love to try to help others in a similar situation.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by a Mormon family and grew up in the church in Utah. My father came from a long line of Mormon's and he helped convert my mother who grew up in the Catholic church. Being a lifelong member of the church has brought me such joy. Just like anyone else, I have gone through times that were difficult and I had doubts of faith. But the gospel of Jesus Christ has always taught me how to hang on and just keep doing my best and things turn around eventually. I know Heavenly Father knows and loves me and wants me to be successful in this life. He has answered my prayers in very personal ways that show me this love. I know why I am here and what I am supposed to be doing.

How I live my faith

I have spent much of the past several years working with young children in our church. I love their spontaneity and enthusiasm. I love working with the very youngest children in the nursery and helping them to know that when they are at church they are safe and loved. I also enjoy singing songs with them and having a snack, and getting to play. I am getting to be one of the older ladies in the area, and I still love playing with the children. It helps me stay young at heart.
