Hi I'm Christian

I have spent my childhood growing up in Taiwan, China, and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just graduated from high school in Taiwan and will be attending university after my mission in Utah. Growing up I have always had a passion for the outdoors. As a child I was obsessed with snakes and the ocean. It wasn't until my junior year that I finally got to fulfill my dream of being a scuba diver so I am currently a certified Advanced Open Water Diver. Another passion I have is traveling. I have been lucky enough to experience the cultures of multiple different countries including Taiwan, China, Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Palau, Canada, and last but not least, the United States of America.

Why I am a Mormon

The original reason why I'm a Mormon was just because I was born into it. However, over the years I have learned and built my own testimony of the gospel. I have learned of the truth behind the Book of Mormon and have a testimony of Joseph Smith. It all occurred one night when I was really debating on whether I should go on a mission or not so I knelt down and prayed and saying that I wasn't going to waste two years of my life spreading the gospel if I didn't have a testimony in it, so I asked God to show me a sign that he really knows us all individually. Shortly after the prayer I get this thought of doing what I learned at EFY ( A youth camp for Mormon teenagers) which was to pray and then randomly flip open the pages and read a chapter for the answer. After opening up the pages I opened up to D&C 130:12-13. It talked of the revolutionary war and it was describing what would occur and how he predicted in 1832. However it touched me because it was evidence that he loved me because just one week earlier I had a test on the revolutionary war and I had aced the test. It was just such a sign that I knew it wasn't just a coincidence and I had the warm fuzzy feeling in my heart which I knew was the Holy Ghost comforting me. It was after that experience that I knew that this church was true and I had my own testimony strengthened.

How I live my faith

Living in places with smaller Mormon populations I have been the lone Mormon in the school in many occasions but that never stopped me from having many friends or doing well in school. Because of the word of wisdom I was always the designated driver (except I wasn't driving because you can't get a license in Taiwan until you are 18) who was in charge of getting kids home and making sure they were okay. In church I blessed the sacrament every week and was very active amongst the Young Men. I participated in family home teaching as well, my partner was my dad.
