Hi I'm Randi

I grew up in a home that encouraged scraped knees, laughing 'til midnight, and having sisters as a best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of those people who can't ever decide what they want to do because I want to experience everything. In my life I've done gymnastics, soccer, basketball, volleyball, violin lesson, piano lessons, orchestra, ballroom dancing, public speaking, and so much more. My parents like to say I was the most expensive child because of everything I had my eyes set on. I enjoy a busy schedule. I enjoy excelling. I don't like to quit. When someone discourages me I'll be right there proving them wrong.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both converts to the church and they both knew what it felt like to not have the gospel play a role in their lives. Unfortunately, because I grew up in a gospel-centered home, I began to take the gospel for granted. I started to rebel against my parents and church leaders. I never understood why it was so important to be apart of this church and it frustrated me when someone would encourage me to do the right. But as I began to mature I started to listen to the teachings more and more. My senior year of high school I was faced with the decision to choose friends or the Lord. I never regretted my decision to follow the Savior but I never felt lonelier. For the first time in my life I threw myself into the work. I began to pray harder, I began to search the scriptures, and I began to listen to the teachings. One day in my gospel class when I was talking to the class about who I was becoming, at that precise moment, I physically felt in real life, the Savior standing right next to me. I swear to you, it felt like I could touch him. At that moment I knew I finally had a friend who wanted to hear my testimony and would rejoice when I discovered something new about His gospel. I knew He loved me and He'd never leave my side. So that's the reason why I'm serving a mission. To help someone find the Savior so they too can have a best friend like I did. For repentance, for forgiveness, for constant companionship. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Everyday I strive to be an example to my sisters and peers. My parents taught me to serve my fellow man by their loving example. Because of them I try each day to serve my neighbors and family. It doesn't need to be something big because a small kind act is a service even our Savior would do. Wearing modest clothing always brings the spirit into my day. I refrain from swearing, I don't drink alcohol, and I don't smoke. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in El Salvador and couldn't be more excited .
