Hi I'm Janet Sumner

I am a retired elementary school principal. I have a loving husband, 5 children, 26 grandchildren, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Janet Sumner. I am a retired school teacher and elementary school principal. I enjoy working in my garden, hiking, bike riding, and spending time with my family. I have a wonderful husband, five adult children, 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all of my life. As I have studied the scriptures and the words of the prophets, my testimony and love of our Savior has grown. I find great joy in following the teachings of Christ and serving others. The gospel gives me peace in times of sorrow or trouble, it gives me strength to overcome the trials of life. I can't imagine life without the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church. I have been a primary president, young women's president, and relief society president. We recently served an 18 month mission in the Republic of Kiribati. My husband and I taught the teachers of Moroni High school the curriculum to obtain their teaching certificates. It was a wonderful experience that changed the way we look at the world. My husband, Wayne, and I currently teach the 11 year olds in primary and work in the home food storage center. We will soon be leaving to serve another mission in France.
