Hi I'm Savanah

I love music. I'm number ten out of eleven kids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in a few different places that take in a large city, small town, very hot, very cold, monsoon season, so even though all three places are in the Western United States, their cultures and climate have all been different. I sometimes think that this is what influenced me in my random compilation of interests. My love of music ranges from Irish folk songs to Broadway to oldies to jazz and a couple of things in between. I love math, reading, and academics, but I also love swimming, but I also love to watch movies made anywhere from the late 1930s to now. My family, including siblings, siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, mom, and dad, is pretty large, and they have had such a crucial influence on who I am as well.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I have grown up learning the gospel. As I have grown up, I have had answers to my own prayers and have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called to organize His church again upon the earth. Jesus Christ lives and loves us so very much. Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers; He wants to help us and will when we turn to Him in faith. Life can be difficult and confusing at times, but if you hold to the word of God, He promises that it will be worth it and that He will be with us.

How I live my faith

I've worked as a youth leader of my age group at church multiple times, learning how to organize activities and help the girls in my youth group. I have sung in many church choirs and musical numbers, and played the piano for others. I'm grateful for the gift of music and love sharing it with others. I live my faith beyond church on Sunday as I try to serve and be an example of honesty, integrity, and kindness.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

We, humans, are one of the biggest pieces of evidence that God exists. The intricate workings of the human body, with the many different systems that run themselves without us telling them to shows me that this world did not happen by chance. My heart pumps, my bruises heal, and all you can see is the evidence, without actually observing how the millions of atoms work together to make millions of cells that also work together to make some systems that make a body work. That's incredible. I don't think that just somehow happens. I believe that there is a loving Heavenly Father who created and organized matter to bless us with this and much, much more.
