Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a daughter, a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Indiana taught me to enjoy the outdoors- playing in the rain, watching thunderstorms light the sky, and hike forested trails. Outside of outdoors activities, I enjoy reading, spending time with my friends and family, and making everyone's day happier. I am taking my joy of reading to school with me in my pursuit to get a degree in English with a minor in philosophy. I love how literature helps readers understand their reality while philosophical theories helps us understand how their reality has been shaped. However, there is one book I have read that has changed my life. That book is the Book of Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

It’s no secret that life has difficult moments. I was diagnosed with daily chronic migraines when I was about 8 years old. It was very hard for me to cope with the new pain and the elusive reason as to why this was happening to me. During my sleepless nights, I began to understand that everyone goes through hard things - good people and the bad - in order to become a stronger person. However, I know there is no way I have been able to live and experience joy except through the help and grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Through my trials I have learned how to turn to God in all things so that I can be a happier, stronger person and daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I serve others. I love being a reason someone’s day was made a little easier, happier, or less lonely. I feel love from God as I serve and I try to share the love I feel from Him through small and simple services.
