Hi I'm Maddie

I went to an almost all Mormon high school, but it was still hard to be a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from high school, and will be serving an LDS mission in the fall. Dance is a passion of mine. Reading, running, hiking, and playing the piano are some of my favorite past times and ways to relax. I absolutely love music and how powerful and beautiful it is.

Why I am a Mormon

If I had to give one reason of why I live this gospel of Jesus Christ, it would because of the happiness it brings me. One of the most comforting things in this gospel for me is that families can be together for eternity. My dad passed away when I was 10 years old, and knowing that I will be able to see him again makes me feel an unexplainable joy. The gospel of Jesus Christ also allows me to be clean of all my wrong doings. I feel an absolute feeling of peace knowing that I can be forgiven of all my sins. Having the burden of a mistake I made can be taken off of my shoulders because of what Jesus Christ did for me and for everyone. I am so grateful that God send his son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the amazing gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that He is the light in this dark world. He is the light for me to follow when I feel alone or lost or unsure of where I should turn to. When I am making good choices in my life, God can always be with me and help me in this scary world. When we are trying our best, He will never leave us alone, but will be guiding us every step of the way to return to Him. His love is true and steadfast and unfathomable and real. I feel it. I know this is all true. I love this gospel and all its blessings and opportunities and guidance it brings to my life. This gospel is hope.

How I live my faith

You would think that going to school with all Mormons would make it really easy to live my faith and follow Jesus Christ, but it wasn't. It would've been really easy to justify doing some things that were not right, just because other members were. I tried not to follow the crowd, but instead to follow Jesus Christ's example. I had the oppurtunity to serve in my nearby LDS Temple. In a few months, I will be leaving for 18 months to serve as a missionary in Germany. I cannot wait to serve and teach the people there.
