Hi I'm Clara

I grew up in America. I do dental service work in the South Pacific Islands. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had the amazing opportunity to do dental service missions in the Islands of Kiribati & Tonga. Serving others is all I want to do. All I want is to make an impact on others and bring happiness and joy into their lives with the Gospel that changed mine. July 2nd 2016 I was baptized into the LDS church at the age of 18. One year later I am 19 and about to leave on my mission in The Dominican Republic come August 16th. I am the only member of my family. It was tough at first, considering my whole family grew up in the Catholic Church. I knew that they was a Gospel, but I just was not finding it in the churches I had been attending. I moved out to Utah in 2015 & that is where I first heard of the LDS church. I investigated for over a year. I had to wait until I was 18 for my parents to give me permission to take lessons from the Missionaries. Once i got the chance my Bishop set me up with the Elders. I was given one lesson on a Thursday. 5 lessons on Friday and Saturday I was baptized. I have no doubt in my mind that this is what i am supposed to be doing. I have gained such a testimony and many blessings from the Gospel. I cannot wait to share this amazing Gospel with those who are seeking the answers.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason i am a Mormon and chose to be is because nothing else made sense. Or felt right. For the longest time i felt alone and wanting to know what my purpose was here. I can definitely say that i have been through very tough situations. Yet, I am still here and I am happy and at peace. That is because Heavenly Father knows us. He knows our hearts. He would never give us something we were not strong enough to handle. Trials make us stronger. Trials give us knowledge and understanding. It humbles us. If we would just open our minds and hearts and allow Him to work his beautiful wonders in our lives all you will feel is peace. That is was it is like for me. Once i opened myself up to His word i knew immediately that this is right where i am supposed to be. I have noticed myself smile more. I can actually look at myself and love the person i am. I did not just become like this overnight. It was always in me i just could not see it or believe it, because i was closed off. I would go to Church and see the same light in peoples eyes. I wanted to know what had put that light there. I wanted to know if someone like me could ever be just as happy. I can be and I am! I had always felt alone but i never was. All i needed to do was let Him in my life. His love for his children is everlasting. He will never leave your side. All you need to do is let him in your heart and feel your own testimony grow with each day.

How I live my faith

I am called as a Primary Teacher for the children of age 11. I go on Dental Service Missions that are organized through the Church to other countries. We set up clinics and do free dental work on anyone that is or is not in need of it.

What is faith?

To have faith is to “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” (see Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 and Hebrews 11:1). Each day you act upon things you hope for, even before you see the end result. This is similar to faith. Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power. The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit (Alma 32:28-43). It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you. Show more Show less
