Hi I'm Susan Bell

I grew up in Idaho, attended college in Idaho, and married an Idaho man. Idaho is our home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mom of six children and nineteen grandchildren. I love to sew--particularly making pieced quilts. I have had the opportunity to take a number of quilting classes to learn lots of techniques, and I love to cut quilt pieces and then sit at my sewing machine and put them together. It is the best therapy in the world. My husband loves to garden, and I get to take care of lots of produce, eating some fresh, and bottling lots of fruits and vegetables for use in the winter. It makes me happy to see food on the shelf that we have been able to produce and take care of.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in a family that went to church and I have always had a strong desire to return and live with Heavenly Father and Jesus again. During my college years, I had the chance to visit with a young man who was not a member of my church. Sharing my beliefs with him and expressing my love of the Savior strengthened my testimony of our church's beliefs. I know that God lives and that He loves me. I know that being here on earth at this time is no coincidence. I am here to prove that I want to follow the teachings of Jesus and return to live with Him someday. He has given us families to help us here on earth, and I am grateful for the family that I was part of as a child and also the family that my husband and I have. We love our children and grandchildren, and we want them to be happy and live the best lives that they can. I know that there are prophets on the earth today. There were prophets in bible times, and there are prophets here now because Heavenly Father wants us to have the guidance to return to live with him.

How I live my faith

I learned to play the piano when I was a child, and I have had the opportunity to serve in the music programs of the church for many years. Currently, I am an organist in our worship service called Sacrament Meeting. I also accompany the choir and play for individuals and groups that sing at church. I love to be able to serve in this way. I am also a nursery worker; I work with two- and three-year-olds for about 1 3/4 hours each Sunday. This calling was difficult for me in the beginning because of the rowdiness of the children, but we have adjusted to each other very well and I love being able to talk with and teach these little one.
