Hi I'm Lindsay

I grew up in Virginia. I nannied for a year in San Francisco after high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied art throughout High School and have played music all my life. I love playing the piano and guitar. I enjoy shooting photos on film and watercoloring. I love listening to music and discovering new bands. Writing and being in nature brings me a lot of peace. Meeting new people and developing relationships brings me a lot of joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, and loved the doctrines and principles taught since I can remember. As I got older I lost sight of what was important and fell away from the church after faith shaking events occurred. Over time, the Lord softened my heart to the message of His restored gospel and I eventually felt the Spirit of God testify to me that this church was true. Although I had been baptized at the age of 8, it was then that I knew I needed to commit myself to being truly born again of God. I knew I needed to chose this path and let it change me. Following the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (including faith, repentance, baptism by immersion, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) will change us over time to become the best, happiest people we could ever be. It has not come easily, but I have gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth, and that Christ is the head of the church. The ordinances of the Priesthood, such as baptism, are necessary for our salvation. The Book of Mormon contains the truth about our existence and the fulness of Christ's teachings. The Book of Mormon and the Bible support each other. When we spend time reading the Holy Scriptures we gain stronger faith in Christ, hope in Christ's words, love for God and love for everyone around us. When we spend time applying the principles taught in scripture, such as repentance, we find ourselves. I know this church is the true church of God because of the miracles I have seen through the restored Priesthood, the Spirit's answers, the power in the Book of Mormon and the transformative power I have felt and experienced through repentance. When we obey Christ and truly "come unto Him" we unlock the blessings of Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have had numerous musical callings in the church growing up, such as accompanying our youth choir, but my most recent calling was to be a ward missionary. I lived in San Francisco at the time, and spent lots of time going out with our sister missionaries. I was able to participate in service activities in local parks, talk to strangers about beautiful things and visit many people who were searching for joy and peace in their lives. This calling helped me develop a stronger missionary mindset of not being afraid to open my mouth to speak to my brothers and sisters around me about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
