Hi I'm Larcy

I'm a wife, a mother to 6, and a grandma to 19. I'm a 40 year nurse, a soon to be missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am now a retired nurse and empty-nester, but a very busy mom and grandma. I love spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. We love to hike, bike, play on the water, and travel. Our latest trip was to Scandinavia. What an amazing land! I like genealogy, and it is fun to search for ancestors in foreign lands. I enjoy cooking, quilting and reading a good book. My children and grandchildren love it when I make cinnamon rolls. I love being a nurse and have spent many years in a rural hospital working in labor and delivery, emergency room, the medical floor, and anywhere I was needed. I was adopted as a newborn and was recently connected to my birth family through Ancestry.com. I wasn't even looking, but am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life, but my own experiences and learning have solidified my testimony of the Savior and the knowledge of the Lord's hand in my life. I love the knowledge that I have of our purpose here on this earth, and that we have mission to fulfill and then can return to live with God. I love knowing that families are eternal and we can live together even after we leave this earth. Many years ago, our 20 month old granddaughter was hit by a car and killed. It was only through the peace and comfort from the Holy Ghost and our Savior that we were able to make it through that trial. I am so grateful for the knowledge that we can see her again, that our daughter (her mother) will be able to raise her, and we can all be together as a family forever. Sweet is the peace the gospel brings. I also know that the Savior made an infinite atoning sacrifice for us, and took upon himself all of our sins. If we have faith, repent, be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, and follow him - we are forgiven of our sins and we can live in God's presence in eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I try each day to be the best person that I can be, and look for ways to get outside of myself and help others. I teach the 5 and 6 year olds in church and love their wisdom and enthusiasm. I hope that I can help them to become amazing adults, and family contributors who love Jesus Christ and want to be like him. My favorite day of the week is Sunday when I can go to church to remember the Lord, Jesus Christ; associate with good friends and family who are also striving to follow his example; learn more about him; and especially to be lifted up and strengthened so I can deal with the daily challenges of life. I also love to sing hymns of praise as I participate in the choir. My husband and I will be leaving on a mission shortly to serve in the Washington D.C. area. I look forward to sharing gospel of Jesus Christ with others, and hope that I can make a difference if the lives of those we meet.
