Hi I'm Amanda

I have moved all across the United States. I am very close to my family and love to do things outside. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up with a large family. We are all very close; which is due to my younger sister, who is disabled. She has Lissencephally, one of the side effects she has are seizures. When it is contentious in our home, she would have more seizures than normal. Because of that, we have grown up being very careful to not raise our voices or to fight so she wouldn't have a seizure. This really pulled my family very close together and they have been my supporters, my confidants, and my best friends. I am currently a college student working hard to pay my way through college. I am majoring in Landscape Architecture. I really want to make a difference and I have struggled with how to do that. There has been too much I want to do. I decided on this career because I love outdoors and designing and creating a beautiful environment I think would be a small, but rewarding way, to make a difference.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger and thought about why I was a Mormon, I thought about how it didn't do any harm, because if nothing else, it made me a good person. But now, it is so much more than just being a good person. I am still trying to be a good person. Being a Mormon has made me very happy. I try to serve, to be kind, and be friendly to everyone. But, there is something just completely indescribable you feel about the principles taught. It all makes sense. There is a loving Heavenly Father, God, who protects us and gives us aid at every turn, there is a wonderful brother, Jesus Christ, who is willing to die for us. There is a Holy Spirit sent to comfort and help us through every trial. We are a family. And as a family, we are taught to be kind, to love, to not speak badly of others, to serve, and to find happiness in every situation. To me, I am a Mormon because with it, I am so incredibly happy every day of my life, even when hard times happen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being myself. I am a naturally outgoing person and so I go out of my way to make people smile or feel included. I hate the idea of people feeling uncomfortable so I always try to do things in my power to put them at ease. I also love to talk. I like to teach in my ward and do it fairly often. My goal is to let others teach me and to be the listener during our discussions. I have loved teaching and found it so fun to be able to talk to others about why we love the gospel or things we can be doing to improve ourselves.
