Hi I'm Rob Williams

I was raised in the farming community of Jerome, Idaho and reside there still. I am an attorney.

About Me

My life centers on family roles of husband, father and grandfather. I have practiced law for 44 years in a firm that now includes one of my sons, a daughter-in-law and three other attorneys. Community service and improving the quality of public education in our rural, agriculture dominated area are passions of mine. I have advised, or been a board member of, many local government and community organizations. My wife Susan and I love hiking, travel, music and reading...involving family members with any of these makes it all the better. I have engaged in many sports as a participant, coach and fan. Watching those around me grow into responsible, caring, mutually supportive adults warms my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a life-long member. My wonderful parents became fully active members while I was in high school, but I had a spiritual witness of the truthfulness of the gospel from a very young age. I have always been interested in the "why" questions surrounding human existence. Why am I here? What is the purpose of it all? How do I fit in a universe so vast and complicated as to defy complete understanding? Through study, prayer and striving to live what the gospel teaches, I have a conviction of its truthfulness. My testimony is that all of the human family, no matter when or in what circumstances they were born, are children of a loving Father in Heaven; that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for the sins of all of mankind; that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth in its fullness in the early 19th century through the Prophet Joseph Smith; that the Book of Mormon is the word of God; and that the restored gospel is indeed the great plan of happiness for all of His children. My questions concerning this life, our purpose here, justice, mercy, our true nature and many others have been answered. My life, and the lives of those who I love the most, have been and continue to be blessed beyond measure by adherence to the principles of the gospel. I am far from perfect, but without question, the gospel has made me a better man than I otherwise would have been. I desire to be known as a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm happiest when serving others. I have fulfilled a myriad of church assignments, and am currently serving as an adult class Sunday school teacher, and home teacher to three single adults with unique challenges. I served a two-year mission for the church as a young man, and Susan and I will be leaving soon for a new mission assignment abroad. I've been a trustee of the local school district, foundation board member for the local school district and a junior college district, Rotary club president, board member of a non-profit center for treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse, president of a local economic development organization and committee member for community improvement projects.
