Hi I'm Thomas Lalo Mier

I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I am serving a mission in Merida, Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After my father was able to provide a home in a safe location for my family, he told me that he got on his knees and asked Heavenly father what was next. Shortly afterwards, two missionaries knocked on the door. At first my mother did not trust them, but because of their diligence, my Mother was taught through the kitchen window. They soon gained my mother's trust and baptized her with the rest of my family. That was in '95. A year later I was born. I grew up playing a lot of basketball, traveling, attending boy scouts, and trying my best to get my self into college. Through the help of God, my family, and many good people, I was able to become a first generation college student at Brigham Young University. After doing two years of school, I decided that a mission was what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do. It was a long process of testimony building, but through the grace of my savior Jesus Christ, I was able to listen to the Holy Spirit and obey my Heavenly Father's will. Despite any obstacles that could have stopped me, the Savior was there for me every step of the way. His love allowed me to make the decision for myself and serve for the right reason, and that is to bring sincere Joy to other families and individuals through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was called to serve in the Merida Mexico Mission. I am currently preparing by attending temple prep classes, teaching the youth for Sunday school, and studying the scriptures every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to follow this gospel because of how it has blessed the life of my family and I. I know that without it, my family would not be close at all. I don't know where we'd be without the gospel. I only know that with it, my family can be together forever. I know that with it, I can be forgiven of my sins. I know that I have a Savior who loves me unconditionally and infinitely, and that motivates me to follow the right path, because by doing so, I am showing God and Jesus Christ how much I love them.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a youth teacher for Sunday school. It can be easy to think that a calling like this can be a burden, but honestly it is a big motivator for me to stay obedient to the commandments. I have the opportunity for one hour of the week to really share some light to these kids and can help them with their daily struggles. After all, I was in their position not long ago. This inspires me to really focus on preparing a meaningful class that won't be a waste of their time. My goal is for them to look forward to attending Sunday school and gain something out of it that'll help them gain and/or strengthen their testimony of Jesus Christ. This is also a big help to my preparation to serve a mission.
