Hi I'm Effie Carla Baird

I was born in Idaho and come from a family of 12 children. I was baptized a Mormon when I was 9 along with my younger sister.

About Me

I am the mother of 6 children. I was a stay at home mom and enjoyed watching my children grow and being involved in their activities. I was a 4H leader for ten + years? I taught cooking, sewing, gardening and other miscellaneous classes. When my children were grown I went to college and got my teaching degree. I taught accounting, keyboarding and Spanish. I like to read and sew and I have grown to love making quilts. I played softball as a youth and enjoy watching it now. I also enjoy basketball and recently learned to love football! I love camping, and taking walks with my husband. I was a temple ordinance worker for three years and made some eternal friends. I have 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with more to come-I am sure.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a great love for Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I have felt His love for me. He was there for me when I took care of my invalid husband. He was there when my husband died and He gave me the strength to keep going. He is my rock! He was there when I underwent chemotherapy and radiation for cancer. I know He hears and answers my prayers. I have a testimony that He lives!

How I live my faith

I have served in the Cub Scout and Boy Scout scouting programs. I was a leader and counselor for the young women of the church. I also served as a sports and camping leader for the young women. I have served as leader, counselor and teacher for the married and single women in the church? Currently my calling is teaching the young children on Sunday. I have a strong testimony of Visiting Teaching and enjoy visiting and caring for the women I teach.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Effie Carla Baird
Missionary service is strictly volunteer. By serving a mission we feel we are serving God as well as the people in our service area. Mosiah 2:17 says... when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. Show more Show less
