Hi I'm Brandon Xavier Brown

Hi! I'm Brandon, I was born in Louisiana but grew up in Houston,Texas. I am the only active Mormon in my family.

About Me

I have a lot of hobbies! I was the vice president for Speech and Debate club, President of Space Club, in Drama club, HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Leaders of America IE:Latin Dance) Club, and Chess Club. I am also an Eagle Scout. I plan on going to Brigham Young University Idaho and then transferring to BYU-Provo. I will be majoring in Business. A fun fact about me is that I gave the closing speech at my high school graduation. I will also be the first in my family to attend college.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because throughout my life, I have been through many challenging circumstances. This would include being put into foster care, my family being separated, and many other things. But the constant that I was able to realize at a young age was that every single time I opened the Book of Mormon, the Spirit washes over me, not let me deny something so pure and true. And though my family has fallen away from the church, I am so thankful that I was able to hold on to this truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing service in my community. This would include doing projects that help bring the community together. As an example we visit nursing homes and help with service projects such as yard work or other miscellaneous jobs that others are incapable of doing due to physical conditions.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Brandon Xavier Brown
A testimony is a witness that something is true. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the way to know is by the Spirit telling you that it is true. There are many ways to gain a testimony, that would include praying, reading The Book of Mormon, Bible, or any church doctrine or just by personal experiences. I gained my testimony truly through all but what started me on a journey to gain a testimony was through diligent reading of The Book of Mormon and personal experiences. Show more Show less
