Hi I'm Josey

I'm a Mormon. Having been brought up in both America and Japan, I am fluent in both those languages. I love music and play guitar.

About Me

I was born in Yamanashi, Japan. I am half Japanese from my mothers side and half American from my fathers side. My family and I moved to America when I was only two years of age. There we lived eight years in between Colorado and Utah before we moved back to Japan where I lived most of my life so far. I have many hobbies...none of which include anime. I love to sing and play guitar along with it. My hobbies are weight training, fashion, boxing, song writing, cooking, rock climbing, reading, photo editing, making videos, and occasionally playing video games. I'm interested in motorcycles, guns, hunting, fishing, and fencing. I dream to travel the world, if not little by little. Currently I am preparing to serve as a full time missionary in the Hawaii, Honolulu mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family. However, that does not explain why I love this gospel and why I still strive to be a faithful member by choice. I worked as a model in Tokyo for 4 years after leaving the care of my parents at 17 years of age. It was one of the hardest times of my life and my faith was tried more in those 4 years than it had been my entire life. Little did I know that this experience would lead to the true conversion of my faith. After much prayer and a day of fast I realised through revelation that in those hard years God had been watching over me and preparing me for something. Everything I had done and been through made sense in that moment of revelation. Past teachings had been brought back to my memory, questions and doubts were answered, and past and present miracles and blessings were brought back to my memory. This was followed by an indescribable feeling of joy and happiness. I knew I had received a confirmation of the trueness of this church and felt a deep appreciation for our Father in heaven and his mercy, grace, and love towards all of his children on earth. He truly does love and watch over each and every one of us and has a plan for all of us. It was then I made a commitment to become a missionary and share the trueness of the gospel and the happiness it brings into our lives. It was then that I new that this was the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I do not currently have any callings or duties in the church but for almost two years I have been preparing to serve as a full time missionary. It does not normally take this long but due to certain circumstances, It took a lot longer than anticipated. During this time I have been trying read and learn as much as I can from the scriptures and books provided by the church for effective learning. I love learning new things concerning this gospel and it truly is helps bring you closer to God and strengthen your faith.
