Hi I'm Tess

I'm a biomedical engineer, a graduate student, the wife of a quadriplegic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student, I study medical device errors and teach statistics. I play the piano and love to knit and sew. I am married to a fantastic man who happens to be in a quadriplegic- we play board games together, sing, and assemble Legos.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active LDS family, so the gospel has always been a main part of my life. Whenever I considered trying something different, I looked at all of the ways my beliefs impacted how I chose to live. I ultimately decided that the gospel makes me a better person, and provides peace and comfort that my non-LDS friends don't have. Now I have been married in the temple, and it is so nice to know that my husband and I will be together even after we die, and that one day I will be able to hug him standing up :)

How I live my faith

My husband and I speak and sing at firesides about his injury and how it has strengthened our faith. We are also workers at one of the LDS temples every Saturday and teach the 10 year olds in Sunday School. I make lace altar cloths for temples around the world. I am the only LDS member in my university department, so I try to answer questions and be an example.
