Hi I'm Emily

I love the mountains. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy hiking, fishing, and being outside; I am a complete mountain girl. I have played the violin for most of my life. I have finished my freshman year of college. I am excited to serve a mission for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I relied on others for my testimony and just went through the motions. As I was a senior in high school and headed out to college, I began to feel lost. I couldn't rely on those around me anymore, I needed to gain my own testimony. I began to pray sincerely, read my scriptures with a purpose, and go to church with an open heart to allow the Spirit to talk to me. The feelings that I have felt and the tender mercies that I have seen often in my life, show me that I have a Heavenly Father and Savior who love me very much. Knowing that they love me and that Jesus Christ has given us the Holy Ghost to always be with us has helped me through my trials and to press forward in life. I am excited to be able to share that love with others as I go and serve a mission. I am not perfect, but I know that I can rely on the one and only perfect person who has lived on the Earth, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been able to teach a wonderful class of 5-6 year old children the basic teachings of the Gospel. When I went up to college, for a semester, I was a leader of a group of about 30 young adult women who were also going to college in my ward. Each semester I was assigned 2-3 young adult women to go and visit on a monthly basis, to teach them a lesson about the Gospel and be there friend, helping them in any way that I could. I say my personal prayers and read my scriptures daily. In all that I do, I try and follow the example that the Savior has set.
