Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Ohio, have moved across the country, am about to be serving a mission in Madagascar, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member my whole life, but up until I was 12 years old and had moved from Ohio to Arizona I absolutely dreaded going to church. But the great friends and fellowship that I received changed me. It took me about a year to finally change, but it was easily the best change and decision I have ever made. I am who I am today because of the great people that always cared and helped me to know that I am loved. Now after many more trials turned in to triumphs and tests into a testimony, I am the first Elder Wonders and I am serving a full-time mission. I have been assigned to labor in the Madagascar, Antananarivo mission speaking Malagasy to the Malagasy people and I could not be more excited. If you allow Him, the Lord will direct you in your life in the best way.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have chosen to be. I used to highly dislike giving up 3 hours a Sunday, but once I moved to Arizona and my new ward loved me without even knowing me, I decided to change. I have loved going to all things Christ related for about 6 years now.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the typical day-to-day things, but also by making a conscious and successful effort to remember Christ in all that I do.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
