Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Utah, I'm about to serve a full time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in New Hampshire but moved to Utah when I was young. I am the captain of my lacrosse team, and I spend lots of time in the gym. I like to listen to every kind of music and play my ukulele. I enjoy traveling and hiking and being in nature. I work a full time job and i'm preparing to serve my two year mission for the church in Stockholm Sweden.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all my heart that it is the true church on this earth. I know that God and Jesus Christ love me personally and that I can gain and further a personal relationship with Them, as well as knowing that They care for me and my endeavors. I have felt in my mind and heart and whole body that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church and that I am meant to be a member of it, and that I should share this truth with everyone I can. I have gained this testimony for myself by living life contrary to the views of the church in the past, and first hand I can say that that is not where true happiness comes from but rather it comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through reading the Book of Mormon and studying it and praying about it I have learned of God's mercy and how truly loving and forgiving He is. With this knowledge I have come to understand the Atonement which the Savior Jesus Christ made possible, which is one of the most powerful actions to be available to us, and one of the most comforting blessings that I know of. I am a Mormon because I know and believe that it is the right thing to be and I want to share that truth with anyone I possibly can.

How I live my faith

In my ward I have served in numerous callings as well as one stake calling. On the stake level I served as a stake youth counselor. As part of this calling I was in charge of helping to organize youth activities in which the spirit was present and the youth were engaged. I live my faith by not using vulgar language, reading my scriptures and praying, as well as encouraging honest behavior and hard work.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Jake
We believe that we are saved through Gods grace and mercy however good works are the fruit of our labors. Hence the doctrine of Grace teaches that we can repent and be forgiven of our sins, and through this action we can will feel of Gods love. Show more Show less
