Hi I'm Erin Cocker

I am from California. I am of Tongan descent. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just finished my first year at BYU Provo and am preparing to serve a full-time mission in the Panamá Panamá City Mission. My mom also served in Panamá and I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to prepare under her advice and guidance. I am the oldest of 5 kids: 3 boys and 2 girls (including myself). I am of Polynesian descent, my ancestors originating in the islands of Tonga. My grandparents came to the US in 1972 and settled in Sacramento, CA 3 years later. I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the feeling I get when I go to church. I have a lot of family who are members of other religions, churches that we often attend for funerals, weddings, and birthdays. Nothing compares to the warmth I feel when I attend the LDS church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. One of my favorite traits of the Savior is his willingness to serve anyone, regardless of their circumstances. In my opinion, not only can we grow closer to Christ by serving our fellow men, but we can also feel an inkling of the love God feels for his children when we forget ourselves and go to work.
