Hi I'm Alan

I am a photographer, a Dad, a sports enthusiast, and a family man, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been involved with photography and art since I was a child. At the age of nine I started my own little business gathering film from my neighbors, developing it, and making small black and white prints for a modest charge. I turned my parents' unused coal room into a make-shift darkroom. Since then my photographic endeavors have turned into an extensive career of photographing weddings, family and personal portraits, and travel to many wonderful parts of the world. Throughout this time my involvement in my church and community with my family has been paramount. As a young man I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas with lifelong blessings of friendship and service.

Why I am a Mormon

I came from a religious and devout Mormon family. Even though the teachings of our faith were given to me from my early childhood, I have had numerous instances in my life where I have had to learn for myself the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Plan of Salvation, or our purpose here on earth, has always made sense to me. However, I have had times when I felt like I was forgotten or not important to our Heavenly Father. Finding answers and comfort during these times has blessed my life immensely and given me a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ, His prophets, His teachings, and His true church. That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

My LDS church service has included time in leadership positions, both in local and regional callings. I have enjoyed teaching young people about Jesus Christ, especially teenagers, and most recently, children ages 7-8. I have learned to appreciate the intelligence and wisdom of young people and am constantly amazed at how brilliant they are in today's world. They have a great desire and respect for righteous living and for gaining knowledge, both about religious matters and information about the world we live in.
