Hi I'm Clayton Gillins

I grew up in a small town on a family owned dairy. I'm a 2 time State Football Champion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town. I grew up right along dairy cows on my family-owned dairy farm. I was able at a young age to work alongside my Dad and help feed the baby calves. It taught me how to work and enjoy time with my dad. I loved going to High School and participating in High School sports. I played football and baseball. My favorite by far was football. Spending time with my friends and teammates, I grew to love the sport. It was so much fun to spend time and develop friendships I would not have had without that experience. It also allowed me to compete and have fun at the football games. I would have so much family and friends support me and come to my games. The Football team took State twice while I was in high school. My other hobbies include hunting, riding in the mountains, playing video games, and camping. I love the outdoors and spending time with my family. The mountains are an awesome place to lose myself in the beauty of God's creation. Also, I have graduated from high school and earned my Associate's Degree at the same time. I plan on going to college and continuing my education to get a good, stable job. My goal is to become a pharmacist because I have already passed my Pharmacy Technician test. Overall, I love living in a small town on my dairy and doing activities outside especially sports, camping, and hunting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this gospel. I love the people found within and their kindness towards me. I am a Mormon because I believe this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt his love so often and find continual peace in this Church. The Spirit has touched my heart and made me feel peace and comfort in times of trouble. This Church has been a source of leaning to in hard times because I have church leaders who care for me and love me. I continue to stay a Mormon because I have a testimony rooted in my Savior and in his prophets. I have felt the Spirit so strong that I cannot deny it. I must stay true because how can I deny anything so powerful. The gospel has also been a beacon and gave me a sense of purpose. It gives me hope for the future because I know God has a plan for me and everyone else. I love this Church so much because it is Jesus Christ restored Church and he reigns at the head because I have felt this from the Spirit of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to go to church each Sunday. There I renew my covenants I made with my Heavenly Father and try to become a better person than the previous week. Also, in church I participate in callings or obligations to help strengthen the church. I have held leadership positions with my peers. When I was 12, I held a leadership position and had the opportunity to help kids struggling my age. I talked to my bishop and figured plans to bless and help them kids. I grew a love for them and served them as much as possible. I have also lived my faith by my testimony, actions, and example. Many times I try to be the best person I can and follow God's commandments. I create a righteous example for others to follow, however I am not perfect so I repent, but they see me striving to be my best self. This allows me to live my testimony and show my faith to others. It is an outward expression of my love and appreciation for this faith and Church. I also live my faith by going on a mission. I will serve the Lord for two years in a foreign country. I will leave behind my family, friends, hobbies, and schooling for my faith. This experience allows me to fully live my faith and to help bring people to know Jesus our Savior.
