Hi I'm Michael Hinckley

I run Cross Country and Track for Utah Valley University, and was called to serve a mission to Paraguay Asuncion North.

About Me

I love to run. I ran for Lehi and Skyridge High School. I am graduated now and have accepted an offer to run at Utah Valley University. I am a shoe nut. I love getting a new pair of running shoes, or any type of shoe. Hanging out with friends is one of my favorite past times.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole family are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so I grew up as a Mormon. However, I wanted to know if the things that my family was teaching me were true, if what I was learning was right. So, I began to diligently read and study the Book of Mormon. I cannot even begin to describe the impact this has had. A verse in the Book of Mormon says "By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Through the Book of Mormon and sincere prayer to my Father in Heaven I received a witness for myself that the Book of Mormon was true. I believe in Christ. I have felt an indescribable and undeniable feeling that I know must have been from God. After feeling such a strong feeling, I cannot deny that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love me.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live what I believe by being as kind as I can to the people around me. I try to be friends with everyone. Through a current and living prophet Heavenly Father commanded me to serve a mission. Since God commanded me to serve a mission I am serving a mission. I also believe that service is a very good thing, and try to find opportunities to serve. Serving a mission will give me that opportunity to help as many people as I can.
