Hi I'm Bre

I'm a firery redhead who grew up loving the spotlight. I am a Mormon

About Me

I'm a firery redhead who loves the spotlight. I've loved the performing arts since I could remember. I was probably the only two year old who would gladly sit through a full musical and sing along. I began performing as soon as the opportunity became available to me. This included marching with a highly competetive marching band, performing in the upper band at my school, and singing with the Portland Choir and Orchestra. I have loved doing all of these things, but none of them top the feeling live theatre gives me. There's something magical about the sound of the orchestra warming up or the smell of freshly made costumes (before the actors stink them up). I've done it all too. I've been a leading lady, a stage hogging ensemble member, lighting, set construction, I've helped with sound, and I've done costuming. Right now I am putting performing arts on hold as I prepare to serve full-time in the Morristown, New Jersey Mission for the next 18 months. I'm excited for the many experiences I will have on my mission. After my mission, I plan to follow my love for theatre and go to school for costuming design.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the light it gives me. A stage light is wonderful, but it's temporary. The light we have when we are living the gospel is permanent as long as we continue to do our best. And who doesn't like to shine?

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon has taught me how to lead. From a young age you're given a job to do that will help you grow. I was always given leadership positions while a youth in the church. Those callings were hard at times and in all honesty, the last thing I wanted to do. But I knew that they needed to get done. Looking back, those callings taught me how to stand up for my ideas, how to lead people who might not want to be lead, and how to get ideas from paper to reality. Now tying my religious beliefs to my passion for theatre, they kind of go hand in hand. The world of theatre is a place where you can either keep you're standards and be know as kind of odd or you can very easily lose your standards and fit in a little easier. My goal in life is to show people that you can be successful and do the things you love all while holding true to what the Lord wants for you.
