Hi I'm Gary William Schroeder

I joined the church when I was 19 in Miami, FL. I served in the Philippines Manila Mission when I was younger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired after working for thirty years as a Design Drafter for an international manufacturing corporation. My wife and I are the parents of three children and have been blessed with two (one more on the way) grandchildren. I have a BA in Commercial Art and enjoy art, music and gardening as hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church by a young lady who fully lived the principles of the gospel even in a setting where it would have been easy to do otherwise. Her example made me reevaluate my own life and what I wanted my life to be like. The missionary discussions opened my eyes to our Heavenly Father's plan for our eternal happiness and the many blessings the gospel could bring into my life. With all my heart I believe that my Heavenly Father is watching over me and providing what I need in this life to be able to return to Him and I now realize that my trials are just blessings in disguise. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life and I am truly grateful that I was introduced to it so many years ago.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church for over forty years, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of callings at both the ward and stake level. I am currently serving as the Ward Mission Leader and am involved with coordinating the missionary efforts of the full-time missionaries serving in our area with those of the ward members. My goal in this calling is to help our members get to better know our neighbors who are not of our faith and establish a relationship based on mutual respect regardless of our individual beliefs.
