Hi I'm Caitlin

I am a Texan. I love all of God's creations. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently earned my Associate's degree through a community college in my hometown, but I am still very much a college student. I aspire to be a dental hygienist, so I am studying biology. I grew up fairly active, and one of the sports my family was involved in was swimming. I am grateful for this, because my background in swimming is what got me my current job that I've had for years- swim instructor. I adore little kids and being able to spend time teaching them such an important skill brings me a lot of joy. I love animals as well as children, and in high school was a part of FFA, raising pigs and turkeys for market sale and judging dairy cattle. Being outside is where I'm happiest. I love the beach, the forest, being on a lake, on hills, at the park, just watching a sunset, or taking a hike. I feel a great appreciation for this earth and enjoy its beauty so much. Something I love equally if not more than nature is music! I listen to all kinds of music and love going to concerts of artists that I listen to regularly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I have stayed a member of this faith because of the many wonderful experiences I have had throughout my life that taught me how true Christ's gospel is. His teachings are indeed "good news", and I love the way they can be found in the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price (all canons of scripture we have been blessed with). I feel so much love and joy when I read the Book of Mormon, and it daily inspires me to be a better person. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and the way He is always there to pick me up when I fall down, and is that ever-present perfect example that I strive to emulate. His sacrifice of His life, as well as taking upon Himself my sins are the pinnacle of my faith. Without these I would feel stuck in my sins and mistakes, and would not feel hope or joy for the future. But because I know what He has done for me, and that I can repent and always become better, I am happy! I have joy and hope and know exactly what I need to do and who I need to be like. This gospel is perfect. I love it so much and wish to share it with everyone who has "ears to hear".

How I live my faith

I am a coordinator for Monday-night activities for my ward's young single adult group. Every week we get together and have a spiritual thought, a game or service project or other activity, and then treats afterward. It's always a lot of fun, I love doing it! It helps me to always have my friends on my mind, and before long during every activity we've all come together to share our faith and fellowship one another. Also, I live my faith by openly sharing details and joys from my life as a Mormon. I work with people who are not members of my church, and they often have questions that I can answer about what I believe or how the church is organized. I am definitely not ashamed to be a follower of Christ and a member of His church! This has led me to make the decision to serve an 18-month mission for the Lord. I will be serving in Washington and preaching in Spanish very soon. I am so excited!!! This is probably the best way I will live my faith, as I will be sharing the joys I've had through knowing and obeying the word of God with others, and helping them find how they can further come unto Christ and feel of His and Heavenly Father's love for them.
