Hi I'm Sofia Baxter

I grew up and still live in the Salt Lake valley. Still in my parent's basement. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a fraternal twin, which I guess is kind of cool. I have very nerdy, sedentary interests like watching movies from the 80s, playing the Legend of Zelda, and reading Frankenstein and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the fruits of the gospel are real and tangible. There's a feeling of inexpressible joy when you feel forgiveness and a change of heart that I can't explain without Christ or a merciful Father in Heaven. Sure, I still doubt sometimes, but whenever I start thinking like that I remember the times that I've 'felt to sing the song of redeeming love' and whatever I'm struggling with then, I cannot doubt what I felt before. I'm a Mormon because I feel love whenever I pray and calm whenever I read the Book of Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I believe that there's more to life than survival and amusement. I'm a Mormon because I love my Savior and all that He promises.

How I live my faith

In my church meetings I listen closely and ask questions in the lessons, and I even teach them sometimes. Lots of people who teach in the church say that they learn as much or more from preparing the lesson as the students do in class, and I've found that that's true. Outside church, I try my best to remember my Savior and live the way He taught me to. I don't turn away opportunities to serve and treat everyone with kindness (though, to be honest, I've slipped up on these goals more than once or twice). On Friday and Saturday nights, I work at the temple as an ordinance worker, and I love it! The temple is a beautiful place made radiant by the work that goes on there. Everyone should go there.
