Hi I'm Nate

I was born in Utah but now live in Missouri. I am serving as a missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very passionate about music. Music is something that my mom used to help us get through many trials in the early years of my life. I have found that I am able to express myself in more meaningful and spiritual ways as I use the gifts that God has given me, and try to improve and discover new talents that He has in store for me. I love singing older jazz music, as well as spiritual ballads. Music is such a unique and emotional way to communicate with others, and I am grateful for its influence in my life. I recieved my Eagle Scout award at the age of 15, and enjoyed my years in Scouts. After I serve my mission, I will be lucky enough to attend Brigham Young University, where I plan to study music, and eventually become a choir conductor.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but had to decide for myself later on that I was devoted enough to remain a member. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me countless opportunities to serve others, and to receive blessings as I strive to live in accordance with the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon, to me, means more than just being different than others, but that I have a sacred responsibilty to share what I have learned with as many people as I can, so they can enjoy the blessings I have received for years.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have been fortunate to assist in many service opportunities throughout my life. The Savior taught that we should become like Him, and follow His example, so a large part of living the faith, to me, is centered around selfless service for others. It is not easy to develop a mindset where your immediate focus is centered around other people and their needs before yours, but as I have tried to become more like the Savior, I have seen many wonderful blessings. My mother is a stellar example of Christlike service for others, and has invited me in my many times of sorrow and self-pity, to forget about my problems and get to work on assisting others. As I have tried to learn and apply this principle taught by my angelic mother, I have been able to strengthen my own testimony of the Savior, and feel a portion of His love for his children.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Nate
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the sacrifice they our Lord and Savior made to redeem our souls. Words cannot describe the incredible pain that Christ suffered for everyone individually, yet through his pain, He saves us. The purpose of the Atonement of Jesus Christ was to provide a way for us as imperfect beings to be able to repent of our faults, and have those sins swallowed up in Christ. What a joyous blessing it is to know of the joy that can come through repentance, as well as turning to our Savior when we are struggling in our lives. Because of his suffering, Jesus Christ can understand EVERYTHING we could ever possibly go through, and is always there to comfort us. We just have to turn to him, and he will bless us.
