Hi I'm Hunter

I was born deaf. I love being outside and playing my trumpet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born bilaterally profoundly deaf. At the age of fourteen months I was implanted with a cochlear implant and began the long process of learning how to use them. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, snowboarding, and playing sports such as ultimate frisbee and soccer. I also loved spending time in the school band playing my trumpet. For much of my life I felt like my differences made me less valuable than those around me. It wasn't until my high school life that I realized that just because I'm different, I'm no less important.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember a time when I was at my lowest. I couldn't see how anyone could care about me. Filled with this hopelessness I said a prayer, asking one simple question; "Do You love and care about me?" Immediately I felt an overwhelming sense of His love for me, and I knew that He was always aware of me, and would always watch over me. I know He has a plan for everyone on this world that leads to joy and happiness if we choose to follow that plan. I am a Mormon because He cares about me and will never give up on me, no matter how many times I falter. I am a Mormon because I love Him.

How I live my faith

Ever since I changed my point of view about my self worth, I've felt that I must always be kind to others and help them realize their own importance if they are struggling with that. I try to always smile and make others laugh, and I try to be a friend to everyone. Jesus Christ was a friend to everyone, and he never gave up on anyone, and I try my best to follow His example in my every day life.
