Hi I'm Jess

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small town in Utah. I've been called to the Washington, Seattle Spanish speaking mission.

About Me

I'm outgoing, optimistic, half Hispanic, and currently a college student. I've been called to serve in the Washington, Seattle Spanish speaking mission! I play guitar and the ukulele. I swim, run, camp, fish, dance, and love doing anything outside. I have a sweetheart for a boyfriend and a crazy family. I'm the oldest of three children to a single mother. I like to sew, watch movies, read, and bake in my spare time. I love watermelon and elephants WAY too much--it's almost a problem. I believe that books are almost always better than the movies, there's never too much ice cream, and people CAN change. Oh, and yes my hair is naturally curly!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in change. I believe that everyone has a second, third, and fourth chance through Jesus Christ and His gospel. I choose to follow Him because it makes me happy, it gives me purpose, and allows us to reach out to others on a deeper more personal level. I know LASTING happiness can only come from following the teachings of this church and accepting the Savior's Atonement for our sins. Through Him we can become all God intends us to be; we can love, live, and feel everything He wants us to and more. I believe He is real, He loves us, He lives and that's why I owe everything I have to Him.

How I live my faith

As a young woman I was a leader in my ward's program and tried hard to build a friendship with each girl. I served as a Relief Society teacher in my Young Single Adult ward in college. It was such a blessing to be able to connect with other women who were in my situation and grow stronger together. Currently I'm serving as a nursery worker in my home ward until I leave for my mission. Playing/singing with and teaching those toddlers is the highlight of my week. I live my faith by getting involved and accepting every calling I am extended. I attend religion classes, sunday meetings, and invite others to join me as well.
