Hi I'm Heather

I play the cello, the piano, and I sing. My favorite hobby is laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've recently finished my freshman year of college, and am leaving in a week to serve a mission for the LDS church. I've done lots of theatre in my life, and I love anything to do with music. Though I'm not sure what I'm going to major in, I'm hoping to be able to make the world a better place!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. Yes, I was brought up in the gospel--but that's not why I'm a member today. I choose to be a member because I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and brought about the Restoration of the same Gospel as was on the earth when Jesus Christ lived. I'm a Mormon because I see how much stronger I can be when I'm following Christ. I'm a Mormon because I want to serve other people as much as possible. I'm a Mormon because I love my God, and I choose to show that love to Him in the best way that I know how--by being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I've had a few different callings before, and I've loved every single one of them. I've served in presidencies of the Young Women's branch of the Church, I've been called as both a Family History Consultant and a Ward Indexer (both having to do with helping our ancestors come unto Christ). I've also had the opportunity to be a Service Coordinator and an Instructor for part of our church meetings. The thing that I think has brought me closest to my Savior is attending Seminary and Institute, which are courses on religion that are offered, usually as part of every day activities. If there is one place where I could spend most of my time on campus, it would be in the Institute building, because that is such a holy place.
