Hi I'm Sophie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love experiencing new things and meeting new people!

About Me

I love to dance. I grew up training in ballet in Salt Lake City Utah, and eventually went on to attend college in New York City, studying dance. Eventually, other paths revealed themselves and I am no longer studying dance, but I still have a deep love for the art form and all things that come with it. I love music and anything that gives me an opportunity to be creative.

Why I am a Mormon

I have not always been an active Mormon. I was born in the church, but went through an extended period of time where my faith was not at the forefront of my life. After going through many trials and trying to battle them alone, I realized that the thing I needed most was this faith. The more I read the Book or Mormon and thought and prayed about it, the more comforted I felt. I know that this gospel provides answers to the questions that seem unanswerable. I know that with the strength of this gospel and our Heavenly Father, I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

How I live my faith

I try my best to bring my faith into every aspect of my life. I continually try to share what I have learned with those around me, weather it's by sharing a scripture, experience, or story that I've heard. I believe it is important to implement my faith especially into the parts of my life that are not related to the church, like at work or school.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Sophie
Visitors are welcome to Mormon church services! Anyone is welcome to attend. Hymns are sung and talks are given during sacrament meeting. Before talks, the sacrament is administered. The sacrament consists of prepared bread and water, which is blessed and passed by priesthood holders to those in attendance who wish to do so. The talks that are given each week are by volunteers, and different each week. These are my personal favorite because they are a perfect example of how everyone in this church has a story to tell and a personal testimony. Show more Show less
