Hi I'm Whitney

I was born and raised in Texas. I have a passion for teaching, singing, and performing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a native of Southeast Texas and a student of Brigham Young University. I discovered a passion for theatre performance in 5th grade and pursued it throughout my school years until I graduated from high school. I love inspiring music and literature. I enjoy camping, especially with my family. I love to learn and I love to teach! I hope to be a special education teacher after I graduate from BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Yet, my conversion happened as a teenager when it became necessary for me to gain my own witness of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ that I had been taught. Through diligent prayer, scripture study, and participation in church meetings and activities, I experienced feelings of peace, love, joy, and understanding that helped me to find meaning in my life and understand who I was to my Heavenly Father. I believe these feelings were witnesses from the Holy Spirit that the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is true. I have faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ, and his sacrifice that made it possible for us to repent and be forgiven of sin. I know that Joseph Smith, who restored the Church to the earth, was truly called of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It teaches us how to live happy and virtuous lives and become worthy to enter into the kingdom of God. This gospel is beautiful in its simplicity and perfect in its truth.

How I live my faith

I have served as an instructor for the gospel essentials class in my home ward and also as the president of the women's organization in my college ward. In the past, I have also organized partnerships within the women's organization to visit the female members of our ward to administer to their physical and spiritual needs.
