Why I am a Mormon

My conversion began when I was born into a loving Mormon family. I have grown up surrounded and nurtured by the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have chosen over and over and rededicated myself to this religion because of the joy and peace it brings me. My conversion story is ongoing. I am constantly re-converted to this gospel. I am a Mormon because my life is crazy and ever changing. I am a Mormon because I need the constancy and the love, hope, and peace this gospel and this religion brings to my life. My life is still crazy, and I am constantly having to adapt to this crazy wonderful life of mine, but the gospel of Jesus Christ, the knowledge that I have a Savior and Redeemer, keeps me going. When I start to doubt and think "I can't possibly do this", I am reminded that I am strong because of my Savior. I have teammate and an advocate in Christ. I am a Mormon because of the potential and hope I have through following Christ's gospel. I know I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and I know that I can do hard things.

How I live my faith

I teach a primary class, ages 4-5. In class they learn simple truths about how God loves them and how they can choose the right (or CTR, our theme for the year). I help teach the lessons and help them be reverent in class. I am a helper, a bathroom-runner, and a teacher. I love these children and I can see the light of Christ shining so brightly inside of them. Each child of God is special and unique, they all learn in different ways and they are all trying so hard to do what is right. Children stretch us and prove that we can all do hard things. On one particularly challenging Sunday, one of the boys in my class said to me, with a look of intense inner struggle, "if they [the kids misbehaving] do one more bad thing, I'm not going to be able to choose the right!" We have fun and I love them to pieces. Children are so pure and I am so happy to be able to share pure and simple truths about love and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
