Hi I'm Patten Whiting

I am from austin texas, I am serving a 2 year mission in the philippines and I am a powerlifter.

About Me

I played football and basketball and high school but i had an accident leaving with a concussion and permanent brain damage. Having no sports to play, I hit the weights becoming a powerlifter. On top of sports I love music. I play multiple instruments which include piano, guitar, stand up bass, ukulele. I am also an avid singer and take every opportunity to share my talents. Another on of my hobbies is cars. I have been restoring and fixing cars since I was 15 years old and it is an addiction that I have. Some of my favorites cars that I have owned are a 1985 chevrolet silverado and a 1972 jeep dj5.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am human. I make mistakes and I am going to trip up and I need the atonement and the sacrifice so that I can become a better person and improve each week. Being a Mormon has brought so many blessings into my life. More than I probably realize and to Christ I am truly grateful for making this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily scripture study and prayers. Weekly Church attendance and routine temple attendance. Through doing the little things I am able to grow my testimony and go through a personal conversion. One of the greatest moments of my week is being able to take the sacrament on Sunday and reflect upon the sacrifice he has made for me.
