Hi I'm Luke

I grew up in Colorado. I moved to Utah my senior year in High School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an outdoor enthusiast. I mountain bike multiple times a week, I play pick up soccer weekly, I backpack over the summer, I rock climb, I hike, I camp, I go to the park, etc. What I've learned though, is these are all fun to do alone, but the excitement and enjoyment is amplified greatly with good company. I've also learned, there is a lot of good company around. Most people, I've observed, love opportunities to have fun with friends, and if I can provide a good time for someone else who doesn't get to do that often, then I will do just that. It doesn't take much to do these things outside, and I like to show people how easy it is to go outside and have good clean fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the doctrine it teaches. As I've studied the Book of Mormon with the Holy Bible at its side, I've realized how consistent and parallel the teachings are. They teach me how to improve and how to live in a way that will give me a sustained and fulfilling joy. It teaches foundation principles that have the power to save nations. It speaks of peace in the world and in the self. It is not a book of contention; it is a book of pure charity. I am a Mormon because I believe in a better world with continually better people.

How I live my faith

My faith is counterpart to my life. That phrase sounds like a burden, but it is just a way of life that I've embraced. It requires constant improvement and progression in social, physical and spiritual aspects of my life which is exactly what most people strive for anyways. What sets this path apart from other forms of guidance is that God has commanded me to follow it and therefore I am blessed by our Father in Heaven for following it. How I live this faith isn't much different from how other's live their lives. However, the priorities of my life are as follows: scripture study, tithing, church, family time, work and everything else that people do in their spare time. Throughout my day, I find myself pondering on the topic of my studies and how I can apply them to my life that I might improve. It is a constant thought on my mind that is guided by the holy books of scripture. These little acts of faith that I live by are simple but impact my life enormously. I can testify of the power of the scriptures in changing lives. It has improved mine and I've seen it improve many others.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Luke
We come to know our Heavenly Father through his doctrine and the application of it. If we are not reading his doctrines, we cannot learn of him which means we do not know him. If we desire to know our God and to feel his love better, we must study the scriptures. Show more Show less
