Hi I'm Ali

I am a hiker, geology lover and student. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and a soon to be missionary! I spend a lot of my time hiking and backpacking and I have plans to hike the appalachian trail some day. I love art and drawing and have worked as a face painter and make up artist since I was 16. I want to be outside all the time and love being alive!

Why I am a Mormon

My journey to faith has been long and thoughtful. About the age of 16, I started to wonder why I was mormon. I had grown up in the church and believed it because I was supposed to, but I hadn't understood for myself. There was a period of my time, where I called myself atheist. I have spent a lot of time wondering about the history of the earth and the origin of life, and the origin of existence, and for me, I have grown to understand that these higher laws of the universe are because of God. From this belief, I have found that the LDS church is the most encompassing. I like to tell people that the church brings it all full circle. We love the scripture that says "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God," and I believe that we can find all answers through studying, prayer and meditation.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by being a teacher to the children in my ward. I am about to leave to serve an 18 month mission as a way to completely live my faith, day in and day out. I have quit my job and taken a break from college for this opportunity to serve.
