Hi I'm Natelie Fonnesbeck
I grew up around the world but graduated high school in Belgium. I sing opera professionally. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I recently graduated from high school with an IB diploma. I have been accepted into BYU Idaho and will be studying civil engineering after my mission. Music is a huge part of my life. I play the piano, bass guitar, and ukulele and also sing many different variations of music from opera to indie. I love volleyball and played for the varsity team in high school. I was the middle hitter/blocker. I love to dance even though I stopped taking lessons when I was younger. I am a huge marvel fan along with the rest of my family. I love theatre and have participated in many plays. The most recent was the Shakespearean play "A Mid Summers Nights Dream". I played the role of Titania, the queen of the fairies.
Why I am a Mormon
I was lucky enough to be born into the church and have an extended family that are also mostly members. I spent my early life leaning off of my parents testimonies but I soon learned I needed to gain a testimony of the church for myself. I read The Book Mormon entirely through and prayed if it was true and asked to gain a stronger testimony of the fact that it was true. I then had many experiences after this that strengthened my faith in the gospel and its teachings as well as the truthfulness of the scriptures. After gaining this important testimony I began to ask what the next step was. This is when I started asking myself and God if I should serve a mission. I was never fully satisfied that I had received an answer up until the year of 2012 when President Thomas S. Monson announced the missionary age for woman would change from 21-19. I knew this was my answer and started anticipating and preparing to preach the gospel for the years after that. I have a strong testimony in the power of the spirit as well as the power of prayer due to these experiences. I also know that the Lord loves us all and wants the absolute best for all of his children. It is for this reason that I am willing and excited to be a vessel for the Lord to be able bring his children back to him.
How I live my faith
I have had many roles in the church ranging from the president of the 17-18 year old young woman to a Sunday class teacher for woman over the age of 19. I have been released from my calling as a teacher to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving my mission in the Vanuatu Port Vila area and will be serving for a duration of 18 months.
